Psychologist
My purpose in choosing to work in this field was to help children and families navigate the complex needs surrounding an ADHD, ASD (Autism) or ODD Diagnosis. Soaring Heights strives to help both children in developing lagging skills, as well as families learn about these difficulties so they can work towards a more cohesive family unit. We work with FSCD funding (Specialized Services & DBS contracts) as well as as private healthcare accounts. Sessions with the child are conducted primarily through play-based learning; however, dependent on the child’s needs, can include concepts of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ADHD Assessment.

Mr. Bikalpa Koirala
(He/Him/His)
As a registered provisional psychologist, Bik supports children, teens, and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, identity, perfectionism, and life transitions. He has extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals and children ages 9–13, including work in public schools, private practice, university counselling services, and residential care facilities. His experience also includes working in a psychiatric inpatient facility in Central Alberta as well as providing mental health support through volunteer work in China and crisis work through the Edmonton distress line. These experiences have allowed him to work with people across the lifespan and with a wide range of presenting concerns.
His approach is person-centred, attachment-based, and trauma-informed, drawing from an integrative approach that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic, and Mindfulness- Based approaches. He strives to create a compassionate, client-led space where clients feel safe, seen, and understood. He aims to make therapy collaborative and practical, helping clients develop insight into their experiences while building skills they can use outside of therapy. While he wants to help clients cope more effectively with the struggles they are experiencing today, he also hopes to support meaningful and lasting change rather than focusing solely on short-term solutions. What excites him most about this work is witnessing moments of growth—when clients begin to recognize strengths they hadn’t seen before and move toward meaningful change. By showing up with authenticity and compassion, he aims to create a space where clients feel empowered to do the same.
As a proud Nepalese Canadian immigrant himself, Bik has a strong interest in supporting immigrant and racialized communities and understanding how culture, identity, and family experiences shape their lives. Outside of work, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, listening to a variety of electronic music, staying active through different sports, running, and the gym, as well as reading, gaming, and trying new hobbies when he has the time.
